Mexican Food Abounds in Downtown Orlando!

At least the drinks look pretty!

We obviously love to eat here at Pulse, and we definitely love Mexican food! Good news for us, then, that Mexican restaurants seem to be popping up on every corner of [downtown] Orlando.

Tijuana Flats has been a staple for some time now, but then there was Mucho, Gringos, and now Chico’s Dirty Tacos and Tequila, which I recently had the opportunity to check out for ‘Taco Tuesday’ with a friend.

I think the server gave us the best indication of what to expect when we asked what his favorite menu item was and he responded, “I’m not really a big fan of Mexican food.”  No really.  That happened.  Newsflash to restaurants:  at least tell your servers to pretend to like your food.

Anyway, if you’re looking for salt-less chips, mediocre tacos and servers with no knowledge of Mexican food, Chico’s is an awesome bet.  If you’re looking for good Mexican food and a fun, knowledgeable staff, hit up Mucho or Gringos … or hell, even Tijuana Flats.

Sorry, Chico’s.  But, look at it this way, with a location right next door to one of the best bars downtown, at least you have location on your side.
