NYPD Pizza Comes to College Park

Man, College Park is really stepping-up its game where eating and shopping is concerned. OK, smalls steps, but steps nonetheless!

I don’t know where I’ve been because Orlando Sentinel reported this back in January, but earlier today I read a Tweet by NYPD Pizza announcing the opening of a new location in College Park. Even though I already had a good idea where the location would be, I still did a little research to confirm:

Hey…you can never have too many pizza places, right?! Now, the Orlando Sentinel post mentions the new NYPD would open “mid-February,” but I happened to drive by there just a few days ago and…no sign of opening yet.

In case you missed them in the info above, here are the location deets:

2912 Edgewater Dr
Orlando, FL 32804

The Sentinel says they’ll be opening on 4/4. They’re definitely further along: when I drove by last night, the sign was officially up!

I have been wondering how this will affect Alfonso’s — an already established pizza place right next door. I love NYPD pizza, but don’t think Edgewater Drive can handle both restaurants in such close proximity. Plus, the NYPD location is where the American Pie Pizza Company restaurant was located. It couldn’t make it.

That’s a great point, Alicia. I didn’t even think about Alfonso’s being so close. And I was actually incredibly surprised that American Pie closed – every time I went there it was pretty busy.
