All this cold weather probably has you running away from cold water, but Special Olympics Florida gives you a very good reason to jump in.
Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem and life skills necessary to be a productive, respected and contributing members of their communities.
For a minimum pledge of $50, you can join in the frigid fun at the 2011 Polar Plunge. That minimum pledge also includes entry into SeaWorld’s Aquatica for the day of the plunge. Or, if you’re ambitious, you can start your own fundraising page on First Giving by heading here.
And, if you’re just too chicken to take the plunge, you can still help out a great cause by being a virtual plunger.
