WESH 2 Meetup

Early, early, early Friday morning Kim, myself, and a select group of Central Florida social media practitioners met at the WESH 2 studios in Maitland for a behind-the-scenes look at the facility and the business.

The morning began with a treat thanks to The Daily City: waffles (via @ Melissa’s Chicken & Waffles)! Much needed at 6:15am, for sure! Then after everyone licked their fingers in delight, we all checked in and got the download about WESH 2 by way of Digital Manager @gabetrav and Team.

One of highlights of the morning, for sure, was getting an opportunity to watch a live broadcast of the news. Fascinating! Thanks to the Wesh 2 Crew for being so curtious:

Thanks, WESH, for this great experience! It’s much appreciated.

Yelp! Orlando Elite Pool Party at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

Last night I had the pleasure of attending another one of Yelps! “Elite” events. This one was at the gorgeous Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress property, located near the Lake Buena Vista area in Central Florida. I had the chance for a quick interview with Colleen Burns, Yelp! Orlando Community Manager, so if you’re not familiar with Yelp! or the Elite Events, here’s a quick rundown (sorry about the lighting – I thought we’d found a good area for that!):

I also snagged some photos as well:

Will we see you at the next Elite Event? Get Yelping!

Yelp Elite Event at Café Tu Tu Tango

Earlier this week Kim & I had the pleasure of attending Yelp’s Elite Event “Bohemian Bonanza” at Café Tu Tu Tango. First of all, we love Yelp! Second, we heart Café Tu Tu Tango as well!

Huge shout-out to Yelp and Yelp Orlando Community Manager Colleen Burns for having us be part of such a fun Community!

Would you be interested in attending events like this in the future? Then get Yelping!

Out and About

I love it when I’m driving around Central Florida and I notice businesses taking advantage of social media:

Now the big question is…have you “Liked” ABC on Facebook?

Organized Chaos: A one-of-a-kind event

This week, beginning yesterday, I’ve been representing the social media marketing company I work for at a “creative” conference being hosted here in Central Florida; I’ve been going to many conferences as of late. This particular conference is called CreateChaos and in addition to having a fantastic line-up of speakers–including Lee Cockerell, author of “Creating Magic”–that are experts in the creative field, there are some interesting vendors exhibiting.

I managed to snap a few photos of the exhibit hall when I had some downtime. Check-it-out:

There are many great events like CreateChaos that take place in the Central Florida area. If you’re looking specifically for Technology/Internet/Online Marketing events, an up-and-coming group called doterati is a great place to start. I’ve done a tad of volunteer stuff with doterati, but plan on getting much more involved in the coming months.

Do you know of a great resource to find local events in Central Florida? If so, share them with us!
