I know many, many Jimmy Buffett fans in this world. Personally, I’ve never been able to get on the Buffett Train and definitely am very far from being a Parrothead. That being said, I totally appreciate and respect both his talent and what he’s contributed to music history. Not to mention the little bit of business he contributes to our local economy.
So I’m sure my Parrotthead friends living here in Central Florida will be completely stoked to learn Mr. Buffett is brining his live music experience to our Amway Center in early February of 2012. Saturday, February 4th, to be exact. Now, I’m familiar with popular songs like “Cheeseburger in Paradise” (duh, obviously) and a couple of others, but what’s your favorite Buffett track? What would you expect to hear him sing at a live show?

Living legend Paul Simon has a new album out and a tour to support it. And he’ll be bringing said tour to the Central Florida area on December 4th. Specifically, he’ll be performing at UCF Arena.

You might recall an earlier post siting a groovy band called Cut Copy paying a little visit to our Firestone Live. Well this past Saturday night was the night, and the band did not disappoint.
A nearly packed-out crowd, Firestone is the perfect venue for a band like Cut Copy: not too big, not too small. As usual, we managed to snap some photos and even some video (not the best, and you can hear myself and a friend gabbing away if you watch one of the clips on our YouTube Channel). But we hope you enjoy.
If you ever have the opportunity to catch Cut Copy perform live, I strongly encourage you to do so.

Ingram Hill
I’ve been to World of Beer in Dr. Phillips a few times, and each time I’ve remarked that they manage to bring in some great live music. So when I was there over the weekend jamming out to local favorite, The Lighter Exchange, I noticed a poster for Ingram Hill taped up behind the stage. Memphis-bred Ingram Hill has opened for several well-known bands and is now promoting their CD, “Look your Best.”
So, if you’re looking for some solid live music and are a fan of beer, check them out at the World of Beer in Dr. Phillips September 26, or World of Beer in Lake Mary September 27.

This saying certainly holds true for an event such as the Latin Food & Wine Festival. And I’m down for doing all three! So I’ll definitely be reserving October 14th & 15th later this Fall.

Those lyrics take me way back. Back to the days of high school. Oops…I think I very well may have just dated myself. But yes, it’s true – thinking about the Spin Doctors reminds me of high school, and how every single person I went to school with (and I’m not being silly here) thought the Spin Doctors were the ultimate, coolest band around. I’ve always thought they’re fun, but certainly not “the ultimate.”
The Spin Doctors are slated to perform at the next Velvet Sessions, later this month at Hard Rock Hotel. They’ll no doubt be singing all of their biggest hits, and I bet will be taking many of the audience members back to their high school days!
