Grab a Drink Under the Stars

Can’t come up with anything exciting to do this weekend? Or just looking to meet someone new? Why not pop-in on this month’s “Cocktails & Cosmos” at the Orlando Science Center?

I’ve always wanted to attend one of these functions and see just what they’re about – I suppose I’ve never truly made the effort. In any case, I’m sure I’ll get to one sooner or later. Here are details on tomorrow’s event:

Now I received this via e-mail, and the invite states “To RSVP for Cocktails & Cosmos, please click this email.” Well, I did that and nothing happened so if you’d like to attend and need to RSVP, I’d recommend visiting www.osc.org and click on the “Cocktails & Cosmos” link, or call 407.514.2000.

If any of our readers do end-up going please let us hear how your experience was.

Central Florida to Welcome H&M?

Is it a nasty rumor?

Picture 14I caught a Twitter conversation a little earlier this afternoon, announcing that Central Florida is to expect an H&M? So I did a little research and ran across an article from the Orlando Business Journal confirming the news.

I can understand why many folks are excited because H&M clothes and accessories are very affordable; however, every time I’ve ever been in one of their stores I haven’t found anything that appeals to me. But…I’m certainly willing to give the Orlando store–slated to open in the Fall–a try.

If you’re not familiar with H&M, they are a Swedish retailer currently with over 1,800 stores in 34 countries.

Stay tuned to “Pulse” for updates on the opening of this store. And if you’re hip on H&M show your pride by becoming a fan on Facebook.

Bullitt No Longer?

Remember that post I published quite some time back about a new bar opening-up in downtown Orlando called Bullitt? Well a “barry dill” recently commented on that post, with the information that Bullitt has been changed to “No Quarter.” A Google search on this returned no results.

Anybody have an inside information about the development of this new downtown Orlando venue? We’d love to hear about it.

Were You at Idol?

IdolAuditionsWe didn’t really talk much about the American Idol auditions* that took place here at Amway Arena last week. I have no doubt they were a big, fat cluster. But if you were among the 10,000 hopefuls who were brave enough to venture out to the auditions we’d love to hear about your experience.

Is All of Central Florida “Startin’ Somethin’”?

Friday afternoon I stopped by a local Best Buy here in Central Florida (yes…I still purchase actual CDs), and happened to pass by the Michael Jackson section. It was tore up, and not a single CD was remaining. I guess this is proof that the passing of MIchael Jackson has really struck a cord with the global community…and that Central Florida is really “startin’ somethin’”!

Michael Kors Store to Open at Mall at Millenia

Like shopping? I know klynn does.

Enjoy watching fashion reality show “Project Runway”? Hello, I’m on of the biggest fans.

Well if you answered “yes” to one or both of these questions your day has just been made. OrlandoSentinel.com reports that a new Michael Kors retail store is set to open at the Mall at Millenia.

The Mall at Millenia seems like the perfect fit for this “lifestyle” store. Here’s a little about what consumers can expect (the “Mission Statement” found on MichaelKors.com):

Michael Kors is the leading American fashion designer for luxury accessories and sportswear. The company’s heritage is rooted in producing polished, sleek, sophisticated American sportswear with a jet-set attitude….”

At the time of this posting no open date has been announced for the store.
