Shuttle Around Downtown Orlando for FREE!

Orlando’s a driving city. There’s certainly no arguing this.

I know, though, that many residents in the Central Florida area don’t have the luxury of automobiles, but from what I hear the LYNX system offers-up some dependable transportation; I’m sure it takes some scheduling. Quite honestly, I am very grateful I don’t have to rely on public transportation.

However, if you weren’t aware, LYNX offers a FREE bus line specifically through the downtown Orlando area. It’s called the LYMMO. “What good does this do for me?” you might be asking yourself. Well, downtown Orlando doesn’t really have a bustling commerce community yet, but the LYMMO service is great for getting from one end of downtown to the other…particularly if you work in the downtown area. It might also come in handy if you’re out-on-the-town during the weekend and have had a little too much to drink (and don’t feel like taking a pedicab). No more worries about where to park, and having to PAY!

Here are the hours of operation:

Monday – Thursday: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 6:00 a.m. – midnight
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – midnight
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

LYMMO stops can be found by clicking here. For more in-depth information about LYNX in general–including schedules and maps–visit their website at GoLYNX.com.

I work at the courthouse. This bus is used by jurors and certain courthouse workers as part of the rush hour commute. It is also used to shuttle workers to seminars and things of that nature.

Due to being free, you often see homeless people on the bus (as well as a barefoot Asian hooker I saw more than once).

Myself, and at least one other person I’m aware of, have had the misfortune of sitting in a pool of HOBO URINE on this bus line. So, a tip: TRY STANDING. Or at least avoid the back of the bus.

@BEWARE Wow! I’ve only been on the Lymmo once, and didn’t notice any of this stuff. I had no idea. Thanks for the insight.

P.S. A barefoot Asian hooker, huh?!
