BT is technically a genius. No, really. He’s clinically a genious; I don’t have definite proof but I know this from someone who’s met him. And you can hear it in his music. Well, most of it anyway (he’s released some stuff in the recent past I haven’t been too fond of.) He scored the music for the Charlize Theron movie “Monster” and has worked remixes for many artists including Madonna.

I was first introduced to Brian Transeau’s (aka, BT) music with a track featuring Tori Amos called “Blue Skies.” Amazing song. From that moment on I was hooked. I guess you could say I’m a huge fan. So anytime I have the opportunity to see BT perform live–be it DJing or playing his own music–I’m there.

BT will actually be appearing tonight (8/16) at downtown Orlando’s Club Firestone. Will you be there? Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door; you can purchase them here.

Not familiar with BT or his music? Then listen to two of my favorite tracks of his:

“Somnambulist”:

“Remember (featuring Jan Johnston)”:

Indeed, Mr. BT is quite a genius. I used to, and still do love this one from ‘01 I believe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vyq40R2oa6U

@Mister T Yes, that’s a good song, although not one of my personal faves.

Were you at the show at Firestone last night?

I’m looking for a video, someone there had a really nice video camera, and was taking footage of the crowd for most of the night, i was thinking he was with BT or firestone, but either way, i need the video of the one he took with me holding up the girl on my shoulders. we were right out in the middle front.. I believe i was the only on that did it, that night, and it was for only a few minutes, but im sure he was recording. : \ bah!! lol.. i need this vid, transmotion23 @ gmail .com

I’ve loved BT since “Embracing the Future”, “Embracing the Sunshine”, and the “Ima” album. Super melodic and subtle. Quite pleasant, but really not that innovative. Sasa, Digweed, Oakenfold, Kimball, etc. all have produced such similar songs that it does seem formulaic.

I know he produced an animated movie where he composed all the music to go along with the animation. I’ve never seen it and wondering if it’s floating around the net.

@sworlando Is it his release from last year, “This Binary Universe” (http://www.btmusic.com/albums_3.html)? I saw him promote this album at the House of Blues last year, and it was a snooze-fest. I mean, I love BT, but he should stick to the uptempo stuff.
