What’s in a Headline?

In an age where traditional journalism is being challenged daily by the blogosphere, you’d think reporters would step up to the plate and produce better headlines than this:

FWC: 18-year-old who lost arm to gator’s claim that hunting permits go unused is wrong

All I can say is: WHAT?!

    Ick. That’s pretty…unappetizing. I don’t get the possession of the gator either. What’s up with that?

    I agree. That is a pretty poorly worded headline.

    Not sure who is dumber — the headline writer or a kid who swims in a gator infested canal at 2 A.M.
