Saving Daylight!

Each year around this time my mood lifts, my spirit brightens and if I’m lucky … my jeans start fitting a little better.

I consider Daylight Saving Time to be Mother Nature’s (or rather the government’s) little gift each afternoon. Yesterday I took advantage of the sunlight by riding about 22 miles on my bike through the streets of Orlando and on to Cady Way Trail.

Today, I drove over to my favorite new park, Blue Jacket Park for a mix of walking and rollerblading.

Fountain at Blue Jacket Park

If you live in Downtown, College Park, Winter Park or Baldwin Park you MUST visit one of the City’s best-kept secrets. Formally the site of the Orlando Naval Training Center, Blue Jacket Park is simply one of the best parks around. It boasts 55 acres of greenspace where you can walk, run, rollerblade, play tennis, basketball, baseball or soccer.

Blue Jacket Park is located just off Corrine Drive on General Rees Avenue. Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Now, get out there!!!
